The True Worth Of A Man
Luke 12:15 states: "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
I'll tell you this, impressions can be very deceptive. A person may seem outwardly joyful and happy, but inwardly his heart may be breaking. A businessman seeming very prosperous; may be on the brink of bankruptcy. Don't allow yourselves to be deceived by outside appearances. Because it often camouflages a moral weakness, or spiritual emptiness. The true value of a person is determined by his relationship with the Almighty God; and his love to his fellow men. Once you have overcome the desire to impress people and seek to serve others in love, you have discovered your true value and true character.
It no longer matters what people think, or say about you.
What God knows you to be, that is who you really are.
Haven't you heard of someone who seemed to be happy and successful in life?
But then you hear that they have committed suicide and you ask yourself: "But why?"
When your life is controlled by the will of God, while being inspired by the Holy Spirit, I like to think that you'll end up developing inner peace and joy.
Now keep in mind, the type of joy and peace that I'm referring to, can only come from heaven, and not from the material things of this world.
For you must remember, the things that are from this world are not only temporary, but none of it, can be fulfilling like the wonderful things that come directly from God.
I exhort you to be connected to God through His Holy Spirit, and then, and only then, you'll be a recipient of all, when it comes to what life has to offer.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." -- Matthew 6:33
Understand that this comes with no sorrow, or regrets. With that being said: I trust the Lord that you have been blessed by His Word and this Bible devotion and that you will continue to trust and praise Him in all things.
